Historically under-resourced communities in Bastrop County require innovative solutions that can help to reduce isolation and provide access to free, engaging programming where community members can learn and play. The Bastrop County mobile well-being and recreation unit promotes fun recreational activities, intergenerational engagement, and access to critical resources that enhance the health and wellness of everyone in the community. Through this initiative, families are not only more connected to each other but also to their community and the resources available to them.

We are excited to share highlights from our recent Care-A-Van events, where families and children gathered for a day full of fun, laughter, and connection. From archery and outdoor games to bonding over books, the events have brought together members of the community for a memorable experience.  It was wonderful to see the smiles and joy as kids learned new skills, played games, and enjoyed some much-needed outdoor fun. Our Care-A-Van events are all about creating opportunities for community engagement and strengthening the bonds that make our neighborhoods stronger.

We are proud to provide a safe, welcoming space for children and families to come together, learn, and play. This is just one of the many ways Bastrop County Cares continues to support and uplift our local community.
